Scientific curiosity and integrity
We are a team committed to the pursuit of knowledge and discovery. Often this discovery feels incremental. At times it feels like steps backward. And sometimes, it shifts paradigms. We embrace that learning requires all three. We seek these discoveries with curiosity and the highest standards of rigor and integrity.
Transparency and open access
Science is a collective endeavor. Our discoveries are built on the foundations forged by others, and we, in turn, build more for others to launch from. We believe this pursuit is fostered by transparency, open-access, and collaboration. We preprint, share our reagents and our code, and try our utmost to support open publishing.
Belonging and community
Boundary-pushing science is best accomplished by communities that are empowering, supportive, collaborative and communicative. We also believe science should be fun (most of the time…) and strive to create a community inside and outside our walls where failure is embraced, creativity is nurtured, and respect and kindness are paramount.
